We’re a small team (< 5) and looking to grow without compromising our client service levels. We don’t take on certain client types (employee or investor tax returns, NFP/charities, side hustle/micro businesses etc) nor do we take on very large business groups (> $25m revenue) - in this way all our clients receive the same service standards and care.

Often we find that once a sole trader is looking to take on permanent staff, is hitting around $300k plus turnover and is better resourced, is considering other business structures, that’s when clients love to invest in our services and relationship and we can really add value to their business moving forward. Sometimes those values are already apparent from the commencement of the business and we can help set up the right structures and finance processes from the get go. Other times a side hustle or contractor/sole trader is just testing the waters or not looking to grow and so just needs their individual tax return done and we’re not the right fit for those clients.

Yes. We’re a chartered accountants member firm and we are registered tax agents with full professional indemnity insurance.
Our costs depend on the services we provide your business and family group, your business size and trading structure, the number of group members, your investments, etc.
At times new clients need lots of work getting the house in order and this may be best done with a time billed basis as scope is unclear, however we do like to help clients with cashflow and so generally set up an agreed fixed monthly fee for our ongoing services each financial year.
Our business clients generally spend from $400 + gst per month in our services, with most investing more per month in our services as they gain significant value from engaging us to provide many of our ongoing services and advisory relationship so they can focus on their business.

There’s no locked in contract and clients can leave at any time. (though most of our clients are lifers!)
For agreed services on a monthly payment cycle, we set up a direct debit on a bank account or credit card.
We first schedule a short phone call with you to discuss your current situation, challenges and service needs. Next we’ll consider your situation and service needs in more detail (we may ask for some more info such as financial reports) and then we'll present a few service options along with prices. This process is free of charge.
Our firm started in 2014 as a remote first tax accounting firm. We haven’t changed from that, however we know that a lot of clients value meeting us in person. We own a co-working space in Brookvale (called Biztek Workspace) that has a fully equipped boardroom for when clients want to meet face to face.
Most of the time it's by phone and email with periodic meetings in person or by zoom. We also provide video walk-throughs where that helps (recorded screen and voice). Most importantly we respond fast to your support requests - we know that fast service is great service and helps you get on with business.
Yes, you can contact your client manager as your main point of contact, however we have other team members who support our client managers at the right skill and experience levels for the tasks at hand.
All our clients currently use Xero.
What about MYOB or QuickBooks or Excel? Not unless we’re helping you to jump over to xero at some point. Our clients get a lot of value out of the depth of expertise and consistency of service delivery that comes from using a single accounting software platform across all clients. Our reporting engines and tax software are xero based and we love efficiency so would hate to complicate things by using other (generally inferior) accounting software programs.
For bookkeeping services, all our clients use Dext (formerly Receipt Bank). At this stage, although it has a subscription price, it is superior to xero’s HubDoc.
For tax services we always seek emailed documents as we’re a paperless office. Use something like ScannerPro, CamScam, or Google or Drop Box’s inbuilt scanners.
